walk & talk

Early sessions with a new practitioner can be challenging; the process of sharing intimate details of your life with a virtual stranger may be unsettling. In order to ensure I have sufficent time to get to know you and to identify our goals for working together, we will start with a 2-3 hour intensive session. During this intensive, we will gather important background information, set goals, and intentions for our upcoming work together. This allows us to dive head-first into the work over the next four sessions to see the benefits of the modalities I utilize. I believe it is beneficial to give these modalities a small time commitment before deciding if they work well for you. I believe that after these five sessions, you will have an understanding of the modalities I utilize and their ability to help you with your healing journey. My long-term goal is to help you learn these techniques and utilize them in your everyday life.

For walk and talk, we meet up at a local park and walk during our sessions after the initial intensive intake session. Communing with nature and being outside of an office offers great grounding benefits and can be calming to the nervous system which will benefit you during our sessions. Along with the rhythmic movements of our feet as we walk along, this provides similar benefits to those found in EMDR which was discovered while walking in the park.
